Baby safety advice

We all want to keep our little darlings as safe as possible but sometimes we just aren't aware of some key strategies you can take for extra precautions.

Sleeping safety tips...

1. Always place baby on their back to sleep never on the belly or side (despite what people may say) this is to prevent baby rolling over on their sleep and been unable to turn themselves around may end up suffocating/cot death

2. Never took arms under the blanket always keep arms free to ensure the blanket doesn't accidentally go over babys head while sleeping again possibly causing suffocation/cot death

3. Try to use cellar blankets (holes for breathing) incase blanket does happen to go over babys head he/she will still be able breath throught the holes.

4. Never ever place objects, toys or teddys in the cot with baby to sleep

5. Always place baby's feet to bottom of cot (never head to the top) because if baby suddenly becomes too warm (baby can't hold its own temperature til 2years old) meaning baby will not be able to push its way out of the blanket to cool down and may end up dying of heat stroke.

6. Be careful not to wrap baby up to warm with clothes and blankets (again baby can overheat and die)

7. Never leave a soother cliped or hanging around babys neck while sleeping

Sun playtime safety tips....

1. Always put sunblock on baby every 20-30 mins while in the sun

2. Put a sun hat/umbrella on baby/pram to help shelter them from the sun

3. Never Never Never place a blanket over baby's pram/buggy to help protect them from the sun this is DEADLY as it turnes inside the pram into an oven temperature causing baby to become quickly dehydrated and will die from heat stroke it is so IMPORTANT to remember as so many woman still do it, its so scary.

4. Dont spend to long in the sun excessive sun exposure is not good for babies
